Dinner at Love Shack June 3 was delicious. Thank you Barbara!! Making Do and Hanging On, by Bruce Foxworthy was generally enjoyed for the universal life story; local color; the ways people were able to scrounge to make do; clearly a simpler life whose folks were far more industrious; expressed the sense of place and community connection that existed. The rating was 4.2
We are now reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. We didn't decide on a date to get together next time, and I think it will be Adrienne's turn to host next, so let's check with her to find out a convenient date. Our next selection is Gerry's pick and we already have it ready to go when we do meet. I will be requesting copies of "Green Dolphin Street" through interlibrary loan for everyone except Adrienne who chose it, and who is buying it.
Summer Reading is going to start for kids on Thursday June 11! I think I am ready, but I can always think of more projects! The theme is Be Creative @ Your Library.
