Change of Meeting Date

I was wondering if we could possibly move the book club meeting to May 21st or any time that week. Will that cause a problem for anyone? My niece and great nephew will be here the week of May 14th. Please just let me know. I hope everyone comes here to catch up on things.

April News and May Meeting Plan

Thank you Chris for a wonderful dinner and thanks to all for a very good conversation about The Book of Joe. It is always amazing to me how much more insight I gain from listening to others impressions, than I do from just drawing on my own. I really look forward to our dinners. For those of you who missed and for those of us who need a written reminder - we are now reading Bruce Foxworthy's book, Making Do and Hanging On , and he will be giving an author talk tomorrow, April 14th, 7:00 PM, at the Entiat Grange Hall. Next week, the library is sponsoring Carl Allen, a musician who will sing Woody Guthrie songs. That event is at 7:00 PM in the library's meeting room. Also to put on your calendar is our next book club dinner which will be at Barbara's home on May 14th. I didn't list the time, so I will hope for an update from Barbara about that.

In other news, Chris has compiled the list of the 70 books that the We Really Read The Book bookclub has read since it's inception in 2000! I am amazed. She has sent it to Claudia who I expect will post it in the near future. Claudia is the person to choose the next book, and after her ( for the June choice) is Gerry, then Adrienne.

Thank you so much for being a fun group to be a part of.

Checking in again

Hi,

I came back to see what is going on here. Where is everyone? I haven't started our new book yet, only because I'm afraid I'll forget it before our next book club dinner. Memory -- a fleeting thing!! Plus I am in the proces of reading wayyyyy toooooo many books at one time right now. It can make it sort of fun though because I can mix all the characters and story lines together. LOL :)

Thank goodness the sun has decided to grace us with its appearance again. I can use a light sunlight and Vitamin D. How about you? Anybody up for a walk? Let me know.

Have a great day!

Barbara

I have nothing of great importance to announce, just that I came and read the posts and remembered how to log in. I'd love to see all of our titles listed, and so I am willing to help gather all of them and put them in.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I just returned from seeing my niece and great nephew. What a wonderful child. He is so musically inclined for being a 16-month-old. It will be interesting to watch him grow and see if this remains an interest to him. We're already practicing with him for the dance floor at my nephew's wedding in the end of September.

See you soon, Barbara

Book of Joe is available at the Library!

Dear Fellow Book Club Members,

Thank you to Claudia for a wonderful dinner at our last meeting - what a treat to have a full Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings! Book Club night is my favorite night of the month. Speaking of which - our plan for the next meeting is at Chris Mallon's on April 9 at 5:30. We will be reading our next book, The Book of Joe, by Jonathan Tropper which is available and ready for checkout at the library! This book was chosen by Debbie.

Chris was very helpful in putting together this list of who will be choosing the next book next :

Debbie

Esther

Claudia

Gerry

Adrienne

Barbara

(Melanie)

Nancy

Chris

Debbie

In other news, be sure to consider attending the NCRL presentation of Nancy Pearl, Seattle Librarian and Author of the book Book Lust and many other books - about good books!
She will be speaking at the Wenatchee Library on March 19th at 7:00 PM. I am definitely planning to attend, and would love to carpool with anyone else interested.

note to Debbie

Hey Debbie: do you think our group can collaborate on listing all the books the club has read since its inception on our blog? Maybe we can brainstom at our April meeting? FARMGIRL
